Some Wonderful Posts I’ve Read This Week
Kez has a wonderful description of her experiences with the “Hour for the Planet Challenge”.
Zen habits posted a great list of tips for conquering clutter . If only reading posts about decluttering were enough to get it all to disappear!
The 5-minutes a day approach is a good one for me though. I particularly like this one:
Learn to love the uncluttered look. Once you’ve gotten an area decluttered, you should take the time to enjoy that look. It’s a lovely look. Make that your standard! Learn to hate clutter! Then catch clutter and kill it wherever it crops up.
I DO love the decluttered look. I guess now I need to work on loving it MORE than I love shopping!
Trey Morgan has challenged his readers to give their spouses at least 5 positive comments a day in an effort to strengthen marriages and lower the likelihood of the marriage failing.
One of my regular reads, The Abundance Highway, ended up in the spotlight after Darren Rowse commented on one of her posts AND then wrote the post “How Many Topics Should a Blog Cover” highlighting the topic and sending his readers to comment over there (and closing his own comments to that post to ensure the discussion didn’t end up being 2-threaded). I really liked his “Problogger on the ground” type approach and learnt a lot from what happened. I know he’s a busy man but I hope that Darren chooses to do something like that again.
Suzie has written a great follow up post to this discussion in her post “To Niche or Not to Niche, Focus or Follow Your Passion?”
Closer To Home
I was quite excited to find Lightening Online listed at number 30 in the Top 100 Australian Blogs Index and number 19 in the Top 100 Australian Women’s Blogs. I had NEVER expected it to rank so well - I still have to pinch myself to check I’m not just dreaming.
Lightening Online also hosted the latest edition of the Carnival of Australia. There are some great posts amongst the collection so I’d encourage you to head over and check it out. This has generated some discussion on carnival hosting and I’m planning on writing a post on this to be published here on Lightening’s Blogworld next week.
If you’ve yet to respond to the poll in my sidebar on how many visitors your blog gets, could you please take a moment to do so as I plan to start a new poll soon.
And that wraps up another week in Lightening’s Blogworld. Hope you had a good one!
