Celebrating Aussie Women Bloggers In Lightening’s Blogworld This Week

Top 100 Women Bloggers Graphic

Being a tad shy and a little modest (and somewhat fearful of the Australian Tall Poppy syndrome), I’m not usually one to shout my blogs progress from the rooftops of the Blogosphere. You might occasionally get an update down the bottom of one of these weekly wrap-up posts.

However, when the Top 100 Australian Women Bloggers list updated earlier this week and I cough/choked/spluttered “how did this happen?” upon noticing that Lightening Online was now in the TOP 10, well, I thought perhaps this time I might bask in my “5 minutes of fame”. After all, there are so many wonderful Australian women blogging now that it might only last 5 minutes - why not enjoy it while it lasts?

Yes, Lightening Online is currently listed at number 8 on the Top 100Australian Women Bloggers List. Wow!!!

Lightening’s Blogworld is listed at 35 which I am REALLY excited about as well. Smile

It wasn’t that long ago that I was wondering if I could EVER get a blog in the top 50. Now I have 2!!! WOOT!!!

Alrighty, enough about ME. I thought an appropriate celebration would be to celebrate some wonderful posts written by Australian Women Bloggers in recent times.

New to The Top 100 Australian Women Bloggers List This Month

It’s an exciting moment when your blog is first mentioned on the list. A special congratulations goes out to these women who have received their first mention on the list:

Some Great Posts From Some Wonderful Australian Women Bloggers

Karen Cheng has announced her “Doing the Karen Cheng” Facebook Group. Now if I’d just bought that gold and black dress I was hankering after, I’d get involved. If I took a photo in my trackies and ugg-boots, it might scar Kelley for life!!!!

The lovely Sueblimely always has helpful posts. Her latest, “Adding Border to Images”, presents more useful tips for bloggers.

Suzie from The Abundance Highway is currently in Vancouver and blogging her experiences. It’s an interesting journey she’s embarked on and well worth following. I LOVE her positive attitude!

Trish from My Little Drummer Boys is currently having an interesting interview process in her blog comments. A great and fun way to get readers involved in commenting and learning about one another.

MagnetoBoldToo has learnt the hard way the importance of LOCKING THE DOOR when cleaning the house in her underwear. Never mind, the humiliation makes for good blog fodder. It’s all good!

The Healthy Living Lounge is having a focus on Rejuvenating Yourself throughout June. This is PERFECT timing for me and I can’t wait to see what pearls of wisdom Carole has to offer us throughout the month.

Jeanie in Paradise continues to entertain us with stories of her boarding school days. I bet she had no idea back then how her trials at school might one day entertain a wide range of readers!!!

Every Tuesday at Our Great Southern Land, Jayne challenges us with a “name that thing” competition.

Concluding Comments

The most difficult thing about starting a task like this is that I could go on forever and STILL miss out some wonderful posts. Australian Women boast some wonderful talent in the blogging world. For more inspirational blogs, be sure to check out the Top 100 Australian Women Bloggers list. It doesn’t cover all the wonderful blogs written by Australian Women but it gives you somewhere to start.

And to all you Australian blokes out there, we LOVE your blogs too. Perhaps next week I’ll highlight some fabulous posts written by Australian Male bloggers, just to even things up a bit.

Have a GREAT weekend everyone!!! Cool

Congratulations on making it to number 8. That is a great achievement!

I am very happy being at number 92 considering I just switched over to my new domain at the beginning of April.

Lightning! Hey thanks SO much for the honour and the link. You’re a darling. Congrats on making the top 10! You deserved it!

If not the gold and black dress, maybe try another old fave? ;-)

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!

Well done on that! And thank you for the nod in my direction - ah yes, poise, academia and blog stories, isn’t that what the school motto SHOULD be?

Well done and well deserved.
:)

Congratulations on No. 8 and No 35. Thats excellent. Hope you are feeling a least a little proud of that :)

Thank you kindly for the mention Lightening and congrats on reaching the top 10 - well deserved though.

Riayn - 92 is GREAT!!! And you never know where to from there! :)

Karen - may be getting the gold & black dress yet. IF I do, I’ll do a “Karen Cheng” pic. :)

Jeanie - LOL. Totally!!!

Cellobella - thank you.

Gemisht - yeah, I think I am actually. I’m learning. :)

Sueblimely - you’re welcome and thank you.

Us Aussie girls rock..no? I love how just being Aussie seems to bring us all together..boys and girls, you don’t see that much with other countries!

Good on you for making it to #8, great work :)

Leigh - it is an interesting phenomenon. I wonder if it has to do with how small we are in comparison to the rest of the world? Most other countries grouped together as 1 group would be way too large to manage. I’m not sure, but it is nice nonetheless. Thanks for all the work you do in maintaining the list. :)

well done on being in the top 10 - very much deserved and for Lightenings Blogworld ranking too.
Thanks for the link too ;) - some great reads there.

Thanks Trish and you’re welcome. :)

Congrats and you deserve it and I trust you celebrated well. I am slowly catching up and was happy to see I was now at 18.
Thanks for the mention.

I am on my way to joining you up there and getting my art blog in the top one hundred.See how much you are now inspiring others.
