A Few Selections From Lightening’s Blogworld This Week
Welcome to my “weekly” wrap up (yeah, it hasn’t quite been weekly of late has it?
I hope you’ll take the time to visit and read some of these posts.
Next time I’m in a baking mood, I’m going to try making these Snickerdoodles. I’ve heard Americans talk about Snickerdoodles and always wondered exactly what they were. Isn’t the blogworld such a fabulous place for learning cross-cultural experiences (and even though we’re both “Western”, there is still plenty to learn about the difference between US and Australian cultures).
Kez has a recipe for Lemon Cake which I’m going to have to try. I’m a sucker for Green’s Lemon Packet Cake (I know, packet cake? But Green’s are really nice and SO easy!!!) . This recipe looks easy so I’m planning to give it a go.
Kate from Picklebum’s has designed the prettiest and most inspirational affirmation which I plan to print off and put up somewhere. She also made her debut in the Top 100 Australian Blogs Index (see below) this month. Congratulations Kate.
Ben Barden has a great post on protecting your computer from malware. One of my biggest concerns as a “technical noob” is being susceptible to malicious stuff via the internet. Ben is someone I trust so it’s really helpful to know what downloads he considers worthwhile and safe.
If you’re in need of a little giggle at the MMO (Make Money Online) niche, you HAVE to read Swollen Pickles post “10 Tips To Becoming A Make Money Online Sheep”.
Top 100 Australian Blogs Index Update
Welcome to these people who’ve made it into the top 100 list for the first time this month:
Online Marketing Banter
Souvlaki for the Soul
PoeARTica
Kin’s Home of Slightly Cracked Dreams
picklebums
Lightening Online moved to spot number 29 this month which was somewhat of a surprise (I was expecting a downward move if any).
That wraps it up for another week in Lightening’s Blogworld. Have a great weekend all.

I love snickerdoodles. My recipe is a little different from yours. I don’t use shortening, have no idea what that is, instead I use a full cup of butter. I don’t roll the uncooked balls of mix in sugar&cinnamon either, I sprinkle it on the hot cookies as they come out of the oven. I’m thinking of trying snickers snickerdoodles and mars bar snickerdoodles.
Congratulations on your move up with your blog. That is some achievement whilst doing the 30 Day Challenge!
Kate - have just found a fabulous quote “Go Boldly in the Direction of your dreams and live the life you imagined.” Thoreau. Will email you but knew if I didn’t put it here right now I would forget.
River - I just gained weight reading that comment!!! Sounds like a FABULOUS idea to me!!!
Nic - thanks. ![]()
