30 Day Challenge Wrap Up

August has been a crazy insane month with the 30 Day Challenge. It’s been a mixture of fun, frustration, learning and building friendships.

Am I glad it’s over?

I’m not sure. It was a LOT of fun!

But it’s not a pace I could maintain over the long term.

My attempts at Internet Marketing need to be VERY part-time.

I’m not looking to make a fortune.

Just a small, supplemental, part-time income.

Did I succeed in making my first $1 online during August?

Not through either of my 30 Day Challenge niche sites (although I think I made 26c in Adsense revenue so there’s a start)

Does this make the program a failure?

N.O.!!!

My own personal goal with the 30 Day Challenge was to learn more about the internet and some skills that might help me toward my goal of generating a part-time income through the internet.

It far surpassed my expectations.

The things I have learnt have already enhanced my internet experience. Even if I NEVER generate any income from what I’ve learnt, the time invested has already paid dividends and I believe will continue to do so.

I have plenty of material for posts for this blog. I want to share with you some of what I have learnt. I just need the available head-space to do so. Hopefully the brain overload I experienced during August will clear soon and I can start writing those posts.

Where To Now?

I plan to continue working on some of the methods shown in the 30 Day Challenge. I restarted with a new niche part way through the challenge and didn’t have time to do all of the recommended steps. I need to go back and do that.

I would also like to rewatch several of the training videos. There’s no way you can take in everything the first time through. Thankfully, the material is available throughout the year so I can now go back and watch each video at my own leisure.

Time is now on my side. During the challenge, one of the biggest hurdles is ranking well in google quickly. As my domains age, I’m hoping that my google ranking will continue to climb. For now I need to focus on finding more places to get backlinks to the sites, therefore building their authority for the keywords I am targeting.

My goal is to build 4 niche sites which each generate around $100 per month in income. In internet marketing terms, that is a pretty small goal and should be achievable. Whether or not I can do this, only time will tell. The good thing is, I’m having fun trying.

Will I Do the 30 Day Challenge Again?

Absolutely!!!

Timing wise, in 2009 we’ll be on the road during August so I won’t actually be able to participate fully. But I have every intention of registering and taking advantage of the fabulous information that is presented. That’s assuming, of course, that there is a 30 Day Challenge 2009.

I get a 42 minute break at work, happen to stumble over here and now I can clearly see why so many companies block blogs, because I’m admittedly being unproductive… Outside my break.

I’ve only gotten through a few days of your 30 day challenge, and I can see I’m going to need to go through with more time and less looking over my shoulder.

You’ve provided a lot of resources I will need to really go in depth with and see what I can learn, I’m glad you did 80% of the legwork for me though :)

Thanks!
