Fab Five On Friday

A Juggling Mum features a regular weekly meme called “Fab Five On Friday”. It’s a great way to share some of the blogs you enjoy reading and to find some new blogs that others enjoy. As this is a blog mainly about blogging, I’m going to focus my first “Fab 5″ on blogs that help me to be a better blogger.

1. Problogger

I have no doubt many of you already read Problogger. If you don’t, please consider doing so. To begin with, I thought it was a blog about making money blogging and while that is it’s main focus, it does so by including many articles that help you to become a better blogger (whether your intention is to make money or not). So it’s a great blog for all bloggers to read, whether they have an interest in “problogging” or not.

2. Caroline Middlebrook

I stumbled upon this blog somewhat by accident and it’s a great read. Caroline is refreshingly honest in the way she shares her experiences, both successful and not successful. She doesn’t pretend to have all the answers but what answers she does have, she shares openly. While her success in earning money may not be as high as probloggers, she does quite well and her subscriber numbers are enough to make me green with envy. Wink

3. Ben Barden

Ben has a knack for explaining things in a way that even a newbie to the internet can follow. One of the things I have found frustrating in my attempts to learn more about blogging and the internet is that many sites assume at least a basic knowledge. That’s okay if you’ve been around for a bit or have some idea of computer technology and terminology. However, not everyone is coming from that place. I love that he is so approachable and interacts well with his readers.

4. Dipping Into The Blogpond

Poor Meg has been rather busy with other projects of late and doesn’t post as often as she used to. However, her archives are filled with great explanations of how things work on the internet and in blogging. She is another person who has been a wonderful resource for me in finding my way around the blogworld and has always been friendly, helpful and open. She also hosts and updates the Top 100 Australian Blogs Index which has many interesting reads on it.

5. Enkay Blog

This is another blog that is fairly new in my reader. I was fortunate enough to win a Market Leverage USB Pen in a recent competition held there (yes, I would have liked the Asus Eee but never mind, you can’t have everything). I find the topics written about on this blog quite interesting and relevant and are written in an easy to read style.

When I started out, I too went through the pangs that you talk about. Believe me, it gets better. Yes, reading other blogs about advise on how to go about it is a big help and enabled me to reach a level of proficiency, that I would have otherwise not reached.

i am the fan of problogger, i am learned a lot into his professional tips.

I have read only Problogger, ..will definitely read other blogs

I have been dipping into the blogpond too for a few months now. I quite enjoy her work. Specially the updates to her famous blog list!
